Episode Summary

EDIT
Sabrina and Miles decide to team up for the production of a student horror film that includes a bloodsucking vampire, gloomy cheerleaders and a helpless maiden. But their quest for the perfect cast leads them to one performer who seems to play his role a little too well. Meanwhile, Hilda and Zelda are summoned to the Other Realm for Scare Duty---the witch equivalent of jury duty---to teach the younger generation how to be more frightening. Unfortunately, the kids aren't reacting to their old-school methods, so they have to formulate a plan to update their spookiness.moreless

    I love this episode.

Sabrina helps Miles make a low budget horror flick.

The vampire they have hired is actually a vampire from the other realm.

Sabrina must now steak him through the heart before he kills her friends, and not just for the camera.

Meanwhile, Hilda and Zelda have scare duty. They must teach young witches how to scare. They figure out if they can do it in one day they never have Scare Duty again.

In this episode Sabrina and the vampire breakout in a karate scene. It is so funny, plus they steal they Matrix moves that were so new and popular at the time.

I enjoyed this episode when I first aired and still enjoy watching it today.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • The second time Vladimir comes to the house, no one says "come in," because a vampire has to be invited into a home every time.

    • This is the second time a Sabrina premiere had the word "opener" in it. The first was season 3's.

    • This was the only "Sabrina" season premiere to air in October rather than September.

    • Hilda and Zelda get "scare duty", which is apparently the Other Realm equivalent of Jury Duty, but Hilda has also had Other Realm Jury Duty in one episode (she had a huge crush on the defendant).

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Vladimir: What is your blood type? I'd like to know whether to have you with fish or lamb.

    • Miles: So what did you think of the changes I made to my script?
Sabrina: Brilliant! Adding the extra cheerleader really gives it an emotional resonance.

    • Sabrina: I'm making a picture, mean a movie. It's going to be a ground breaking cinematic exploration of pure evil...with an up-beat musical number at the end!

    • Hilda: We've been selected for Other Realm scare duty.
Zelda: Scare duty? That can't be, we just did scare duty two hundred years ago.

    • Hilda: Let's go back to that word 'audition.' Normally I won't read for a part, but since Miles has never seen my work-
Salem: (interrupting.) He can die a happy man!
Hilda: Go ride your bike in traffic.
Salem: Guh. (bang and a puff of smoke, salem is on his bike) It pinches.

    • Sabrina: Hey guys! Can I borrow your sarcophagus?
Zelda: Oh sure. It's in the garage right next to Salem's bike, which he begged for and never uses.
Salem: I told you, the seat pinches my cathood.

    • Salem: Wanna really scare people? Leave the house without your makeup. Na-ha-ha...

    • Hilda: Zellie, you and I wrote the book on scaring people. Remember, Scaring People by Hilda and Zelda Spellman.
