At the end of the episode it is said that Harvey reached his spell quota with the friendship bread spell, meaning no spells after it would affect him, but he was affected by the ipecac spell.
Mr Kraft and Zelda broke up in the episode before this, The Four Faces of Sabrina.
As this episode ended, Zelda and Mr. Kraft (Martin Mull) were still together (there was no closure on his storyline); yet, starting with season 5, he was never mentioned again. Obviously, the "Sabrina" production company had no idea he would be fired.
At the end of the course after Sabrina has been rescued, she is standing by the referee and is completely clean,(after nearly sinking in quick sand) however when she arrives back at the Spellman house in the kitchen she is completely covered in mud.
Harvey: Sabrina, can we talk about the fact that......you're a witch?
Harvey: Where are we? Sabrina: Uh, this is just some weird dream. Harvey: ...Eleanor Roosevelt's not going to appear and start hitting me with a leg of lamb, is she? Sabrina: No, it's a different weird dream.
Salem: I know I'm in the dog house but this is ridiculous. Hello! I don't think I deserve this kind of treatment! It was just a car! And we really don't like that man! I said I was sorry! Well if I didn't, I meant to! (he hears a dog howling in the distance) Oh there's no lock on this door. In fact there's no door! And I'm out of pepper-spray! (he begins to cry) You'll feel bad when I'm dead!
Sabrina: ...And the worst part, other than the pound of quicksand in my underwear, is that I still don't know what to do about Harvey and Josh. Hilda: I'll look it up, but I'm almost certain there's a tribe in New Guinea where women can have multiple husbands. Zelda: Oh honey, I'm sorry you have such a dilemma to face. I wish we could comfort you with your graduation present. Salem: I bet now you're kicking yourself for not getting her that 'Mr. Microphone'! (Receives a dirty look from Zelda) Hilda: The toaster's fixed. Salem: Now I can toast my ooey gooey sticky-bun. (receives another dirty look) Me no funny?
(After Salem breaks their presents for Sabrina) Zelda: Salem! Salem: Oopsie! Hilda: You did that on purpose! Salem: I think the "Oopsie" implies that I didn't. Hilda: Oh I see your vile little plan. You break our gifts in the childish hopes that we will then buy Sabrina a 'Mr. Microphone' Zelda: Yeah, it's so obvious! (To Hilda) A Mr. what? Salem: I have no such plan... Did it work? Hilda: Oh you are in for it buster. Not only did you break irreplaceable items but you've now freed the man in the mirror. Mirror Man: (Looking around) This decor is really the fairest of them all... if you're talking county fairs.
Sabrina: You know, Harvey's being so unreasonable. I don't know why he doesn't want me hanging out with Josh? He must not trust me. Salem: That is so sad. I think there's only one thing you can do. Open another present! (After she picks up a present) Is it a 'Mr. Microphone'? Is it a 'Mr. Microphone'? Sabrina: (Sarcastically) No, it's luggage.
Sabrina: Okay, the towels are changed, the soap dispensers are filled and the urinal cakes are replaced. Josh: This is how I keep people from knowing I like you best. Sabrina: Including me. Josh: (To Harvey when he walks in with Brad) Well Skippy, come to spend some of that hard earned paper route money? Harvey: Tough talk for a college junior who still attends high school proms.
Starting with this episode, Harvey becomes the only mortal besides Sabrina's mom to know that Sabrina is a witch.
Not only did Sabrina leave ABC after this episode, but ABC (for the time being) stopped TGIF all together...all other shows were cancelled and Fridays were no longer named TGIF.
The move to the WB had a profound impact on the future of "Sabrina." While on ABC, the show had been mainly geared towards preteens. The WB, however, wanted the show to have a more mature audience. To accomplish this, the WB fired nearly all of the "Sabrina" writers, and a new writing staff was assembled. Moreover, the WB also announced a few casting changes for the show as Martin Mull, China Shavers, and Nate Richert (for the time being) were let go.
After this episode, "Sabrina" moved from ABC to the WB. It jumped networks due to purely money matters: ABC was more than willing to renew the show for a 5th season, but it was not willing to pay the reported $1.5 million that the "Sabrina" production company wanted. The WB then grabbed "Sabrina." The WB paid a mere $675,000 per episode, but agreed to renew the show for two years (44 episodes.)
This is the last appearance of Mr. Kraft and Brad.
This was considered ABC's Series Finale since it was the last episode aired on ABC.
