Towards the end, Sailor Moon starts speaking, but her mouth doesn't start moving until she's halfway through a sentence.
Lyrics to (Give Me The Strength To) Carry On Here I'm standing in the night My crecent wand, the only light Alone against my darkest fear But I sense my friends are near I'll draw from each the power I need The evil queen we will defeat Give me the strength to carry on With all our love we can't go wrong Only together we face the fight Nothing can stand against our might Give me the strength to carry on (carry on) With all our love we can't go wrong Only together we faced the fight (faced the fight) Nothing can stand against our might With all our strength the battle's won With all our love we can't go wrong We have the strength to carry on
Sailor Moon: It's freezing! Couldn't we have gone somewhere warm...like Tahiti?
In the original Japanese version this season is 46 episodes long. With 5 episodes removed and two combined into one, the dub season consists of 40 episodes.
The song that plays during the showdown is called "Carry On". In the original version it is the Japanese theme song "Moonlight Legend".
The song that plays when Luna and Artemis are talking about the scouts and how they don't remember anything is called "A New Day".
This is by far the most edited episode of the series. In the original Japanese version, the season 1 finale is actually two episodes. Due to the violent nature of these two episodes, it was made into one episode for the dub. The first change is the scene of Serena making dinner for her family is cut out. The biggest change is in the original Japanese version Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Venus, and Sailor Mars (in that order) die in battle with the Doom and Gloom Girls, while in the dub they are just captured by them. This causes many scenes to be switched around. The scene of the lead Doom and Gloom Girl arising from the ice hill was originally after Sailor Mars' battle, but in the dub it appears after Jupiter and Venus are captured. This also makes it look like Serena is running away from her while she is yelling at her. In the original version, the Doom and Gloom Girls had no intention of using Mercury's computer. In the dub version Sailor Moon and Prince Endymion's fight is almost non-existent as in the original version it consisted of him choking and electrocuting her. The scene of Queen Beryl's attack hitting Darien is cut out. Also, in the original Japanese version this caused him to die. Another big change happens after Queen Beryl is hit by Darien's rose. In the original Japanese version Queen Metalia actually kills Beryl and takes her body and fights Princess Serenity, while in the dub Queen Metalia was changed to the "Negaforce" and as such in the dub only gives her a big power boost. In the fight with Queen Beryl, the Sailor Scouts return, somehow having been freed from imprisonment, while in the Japanese version it was their spirits. In the Japanese version Serena originally has flashbacks of past conversations with the other Sailor Scouts, while in the dub they are brand new lines made up. The final change happens at the very end. In the dub, Serena goes to visit Darien in the hospital. This does not happen in the Japanese version, and the hospital scenes were actually scenes from when Sailor Moon tries to get Prince Endymion to turn good again.
