thats cuz DiC is a "kids programmin" studio, and they wanted to make SM apealing to 8yr old girls so they can se that girls CAN be heroes! the show is meant for teens, not 3/4th graders really. (all the talks of death, nephlite, zoicite, the senshi)

Both, sometimes i wish that sailor moon wasn't dubbed. they would have the same dialoug as the orginal and the sames scenes and all that, but....i lot of the parents would have a hard time with it.

Hence the reason many great Japanimations have been degraded to something worse than Winx Club and Teletubbies put together.

I really love the original Japanese version. You see the entire show as it was originally intended...though I love the manga even more, but that's off topic. I have all 5 seasons of Sailor Moon completely uncut and I adore them. Although I don't watch them so much, I could never get rid of them.

The English dub is so horrendous once you see the true original. It's almost a completely different show. But I can't completely write it off, I mean, if there hadn't been a dubbed North American version I may have never had the pleasure of watching Sailor Moon, I may never have become a fan. And that's just a thought too horrible to ponder...

I will always have fond memories of different points of the DIC dub, but my heart belongs to the original Japanese version.

Honestly, I like both of them. The Jap. seems to be in a more serious tone. The dub songs are great though, Rainy Day Man, Oh Starry Night, Carry On, the english words to Ai no Senshi, Power of love, and other ones. The english would also add more words but changes to much things. Also the jap. is the only one that has Stars while dub goes up to SuperS.

I  pick both versions 'english' so you can understand what they are saying in 'japanese' for the stuff they left out

I like the dubbed English version. Its what I am used to, what I grew up with, what I know... If I had only seen the Jap I would like that one, but now its just too wierd to me..

I prefer the Japanese version better because you get to hear what they're really saying and what they actually mean intead of some Americanized version.
