This is that finalle to that Doom Tree mini arc. This epsode revolves around both couples Serena and Darren, as well as Allen and Ann. We see the conflicting parallel between them, one couple Serena and Darren knows what love is while another Allen and Ann doesn't have the slightest clue which makes them take destructive actions. The theme of this episode is about love and what one does to protect it.

We see both the couples at their best and you actually feel for them and are concerned about what is happening. Just seeing Serena and Darren constantly getting thrashed mercelessly by Ann was just painful to watch, I thought leave them alone you b....

Serena and Darren really don't hold back on their feelings in this episode, from seeing Serena turn into Sailor Moon and coming to his side when he's still week, he reach up for her and closes his fingers on her hand. Sort of a small but big way of showing where Darren's feelings truely point to. Seeing Darren's memories finally recovered, but most of all my favorate moment just as Ann is about to blast again, Serena blocks and in that moment we see the strength of Serena's love for Darren from not just what she is doing physically but also from what she says. And of course when Ann blasts again, Darren does likewise. That is always part of what true love truly is, the will to sacrifice yourself for another in exchange for him or her to live while keeping the bond intact.

Then there is the other couple who are confused as to where their feelings are going as well as what they really are. We see their ignorace has made them rather indecisive as to where the feelings really are aimed at. So these two learn the hard way about love in the heat of battle, Allen seems to be the only one that is really doing the learning as we see him slowly learn why it is wrong to destroy two people that love one another, unfortunately the leason doesn't sink in. It all builds up to that big moment when the tree gets angry we see Allen gets knocked out after pushing Ann away from the fatal vines trying to kill them, after Ann see that she does something she never really does before, I'll admit it was shocking, amazing, tragic but rather romantic in a way, when we see Ann sacrifice her own life to save Allen. We see both their feelings come out, though the tragidy is it's too late.

But of course it all comes down to a ending that left me with a good feeling inside. From seeing Ann resurected and both Allen and Ann have been given another chance at love along with the tree which is now reborn. Same goes with Serena and Darren who have rediscovered one another, where both couples go in their relationship is up to them. Because love isn't just a bond it's also a journey, a journey both Allen and Ann as well as Serena and Darren have both just begun.moreless
