There was a pretty good idea behind this story, and if only anyone had been interested in giving an accurate depiction of the way newspaper people work, it might have been an affecting hour's television. Glynis Johns, sporting a Southern accent you could cut with a well-flung waffle, plays the unhappy woman whose tedious life becomes dominated by the revived memory of that time, long ago, when she was young and pretty and adored. In reality, such a woman would have been ruthlessly exploited for the sake of a headline, but here, the press types she meets are a gaggle of sweethearts. It all ends with discreetly-wiped tears as Lois soldiers on.moreless
