  • Nick Alexander gets a tip-off that a minor employee in a big hotel has been accidentally shot (not fatally) by a famous entertainer during a spot of horseplay. But the wounded man denies it.moreless

The venal singer-actor played by Robert Lansing is a blatant caricature of Frank Sinatra, and one wonders if Sinatra ever considered suing someone. The idea of the episode is that the poor, penniless bellhop should get so entranced by the bogus friendship of showbiz types that he will actually connive with them in covering up this sensational incident. That might have been a good idea for a segment, but, as usual with this show, you won't believe a word of it. Ann Blyth guests as the bellhop's straight-and-narrow wife, who fears she will lose her husband if he continues to be seduced by the glamour life-style; needless to say, he eventually concludes that poor-but-happy is best.moreless
