    • TRIVIA (0)

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Sam: Fortunately, our fragile little life essences are protected by this penny-conscious moon-gear *breathing in a paperbag with windows*
Max: Hey, what happens if my paper bag runs out?!
Sam: Did you bring a spare? *holds up an extra paper bag*
Max: I'm embarrassed by my lack of preparation... I'm a fool!

      • Moon Minister of Science: We use this device to produce a rich, delicious peanut brittle for use in our savage backward rituals, but It may serve your needs (referring to an attempt to regenerate the ashes of Max)

      • Sam: Well, here we are on the moon, Pretty breath-taking, huh?
Max: You said it Sam, everyone knows there's no air on the moon! The preceding joke was conceived way back in 1978

    • NOTES (4)

      • At the end of this episode, as Sam is about to play a random banjo tune, Max leaps at Sam and tears the banjo apart with his teeth.

In "Surfin' the Highway" comic book, in the end, Sam was going to play a tune with his banjo but Max at the same time plays a bagpipe to drown out Sam's banjo tunes.

      • On an interesting bit, in this episode, Sam and Max get to the moon by pressing a button in their car that launches the car to the moon. In the comic book "Surfin' the Highway", they came to the moon in their car in a different way. It mentioned things like stuffing the muffler of their car with matchheads.

      • The little roach holds Sam and Max at gunpoint with a tommy gun in this episode. In the Sam and Max comic book, "Surfin' the Highway", the roach holds Sam and Max at gunpoint with a pistol.

      • "Bad Day on the Moon" was also in the rare "Sam and Max: Surfin' the Highway" comic book

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • The Mayor

The mayor of the moon appears in the form of a giant glowing rat head. This is similar to the Wizard of Oz where the wizard is this giant glowing transparent head.

      • Sam: One of those - points of light - you see - in the sky - at night
This is an exact quote from an episode of the original Star Trek series "The Gamesters of Triskelion" made by Kirk to Shawna when explaining what the stars are to her. The Star Trek reference is made more obvious by the Star Trek music playing while he says this and his imitation of William Shatner's unique reading of dialogue.
