  • Sam the dog, and Max the biped rabitty thing are freelance police. They solve strange and silly cases in wacky and preferably violent ways.

This, in my opinion, is one of the better cartoons from the 90s and the comic was equally as hilarious. It's great for the kids but also had a good amount of adult humor. On occasion it seemed on the borderline for still being considered a kid's show or too inappropriate, but that's what made it even funner to watch. Sam & Max was very witty and clever, and just plain fun to watch. This is a great one to pick up to watch with the kid's or the whole family if they all enjoy cartoons. It's great to get a good laugh or just for the nostalgia of watching this older toon.
  • A TV adaptation of a comic book that stayed true to the original.

A TV adaptation of a comic book that stayed true to the original. Sam and Max Freelance Police was a hilarious comic and even having to keen the language within acceptable limits for TV the cartoon has been able to keep its humor intact. The various adventures/misadventures are merely a backdrop for the witty banter between Sam & Max and the rest of their world. From battling something that has left in a refrigerator too long or inadvertently taking a class of children to battle a giant space head to using a child that can change things with his mind for there own amusement almost all of all the episodes are clever and fun to watch.
  • A pretty good cop kinda sci-fi show.

A pretty good cop kinda sci-fi show. If this is a show that you do not normally watch and you are sitting at home with nothing to do, you are going to wish you had it on tape. Having it "on tape" had become the generic term for recorded programs. Today you are more likely to have the show on Tivo or DVR than VHS, or god forbid Beta!! It is kind of like how a lot of people still call CD's "records" or "albums." Anyway, back to the show. This is the type of show that is really pretty good if you would just give it a chance. So on those cold, lonely, rainy days, pop in your tape or DVR or whatever if you were smart enough to tape it. If not, check to see if it is on as a re-run. After all, as they say, if you have never seen it, it is new to you.
