  • Not funny....

    "Mediocre"
A very average 30 minutes for a show that has done well so far. The element of comedy was evidently missing, nevertheless this one had its moments. At least, it wasn't painful to watch.

The one part where I did laugh hard was when Frank laughed in a mocking way when Regina was interrogating Sam regarding her methods. Its good to see Frank upbeat and funny, rather than nonchalant and uninteresting. We also see a brief sequence that sheds some light on Andrea's past. The story conveyed was a decent one, but I did miss all the usual fun stuff.

Hope the next one is funny.moreless
  • Sweet, but without the cherry on top.

    "Fair"
Really and truly I love Samantha Who and I still do, but I have to admit that this season isn't as funny as Season 1. Though I loved Samantha's new love interest Owen (James Tupper). Still has that Elmo look and tone, for those Men in Trees fans out there, except for his constant smiling, so un-like Jack. I still have that weakness for Men in Trees so I tried not to squirm when he began mouthing Samantha instead of Marin. I still separated that life of Men Trees form Samantha who. For a fresh role for James Tupper, he did good, I am liking Owen, but that means where does Todd fit in. I barely ever pay attention to Andrea, she becomes very typical every episode. Way to go Dena, good friendly advice. Dena seems to be Sam's real friend, imagine the kind of advice Andrea would have given. Still Sam found a way to twist it, but i found it oddly not funny when Owen was like The last Realtor he slept with wasn't good. I thought it was offensive to himself, tough it was still another good episode; same old, same old.

  • Sam and Regina try to sell a building.

    6.5
    "Fair"
Noteworthy scenes in this episode including Regina discussing Sam's technique and how it might be off with Frank in the background interpreting it differently based on knowing that Sam slept with the client, Regina pretending Sam and she were sisters and pretty much everything involving Andrea here.

This was not a good Todd episode though. I like that they added another male cast member, although he was kind of a ripoff of Randy from My Name Is Earl, the show can still benefit from his presence.

This was not the greatest Samantha Who ever, but it wasn't bad by any means. There just was a lack of humor in this episode and everything came off as rushed.moreless

    • Samantha: (opening monologue) A chance to rebuild your life from the ground up is a pretty big job, especially when there are cracks in your foundation. But an important tool is self-respect. Being able to look yourself in the mirror and like what you see. (end monologue) One way to build self-respect is to surround yourself with people you admire who would also admire you. But at the end of the day, no matter how much someone else cares about you, you have to respect yourself. To be able to look yourself in the mirror.

    • Samantha: I just wanna do something that is meaningful. I mean, you're the one who said that I was cut out for better things, right? Regina: That was when the leaves were green. (points outside the window) Look at all the pretty Fall colors.

    • (Owen giving Samantha a piggyback ride) Samantha: Jeez, if I had known you were gonna carry me for ten blocks, I wouldn't have had dessert. Owen: No, it's my fault. I walk everywhere, and I forget that pretty girls like to wear pretty shoes.

    • Samantha: I can't believe how stupid I am. Of course, why would he buy the building when he can get the realtor for free? Dena: I think you're lucky he didn't buy it. Samantha: How am I lucky? Dena: Because if he did, you'd always be wondering if he did it because he owes you. Samantha: Oh. Oh, I get that. Dena: You know, like a whore. Samantha: I said, I get it.

    • Dena: I tried to have a one night stand on a plane once, but we crossed the international date line, so it ended up being a two night stand. Samantha: It was not a one night stand. Okay. Owen and I had a connection. Dena: Oh, us too. Yeah, we switched planes in Hong Kong.

    • Regina: Samantha, it's called sales. Real estate is not about selling a building, it's about selling yourself. Samantha: No, selling yourself is actually called prostitution.

    • Andrea: Hello Andrea. Andrea: Seth. Oh God. It's back. Seth: That's right, and I'm carrying your baby. Andrea: I hoped you were dead. I mean, I heard you were dead, and then I hoped it was true.

    • Samantha: I sent out my resume to every single charitable organization and non-profit in Chicago and I posted online. Regina: You know, if you watch the local news like a normal person, you'd realize that's how the perverts get you.

    • When Seth put a french fry in his mouth, he told Andrea to put the other end of the french fry in her mouth. They then bit off it until they kissed, like "the dogs". He was referring to a scene form the 1955 animated movie Lady And The Tramp, where two dogs grab a piece of spaghetti and accidentally kiss.
