In my last review I had mentioned that I don't care anymore as ABC has made sure Sam won't be returning fall 2009. And I don't really derive a rush out of trashing the last few installments that ABC has picked up. I was initially shocked on hearing the news of cancellation. But now, it seems quite fair as the concept doesn't seem to be working anymore. I always thought Sam Who was a good breed of comedy and better than the 5th edition of The Office.

Spending 21 minutes fighting over a bowl just makes me wanna throw up. And nor did I feel better after watching some heart wrenching mother-daughter bonding. Frank betting 5 grand on Tony Dane sucking at hoops because of the Andrea jinx was funny to some extent. For most part, watching the episode was just a waste of time.moreless

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Samantha: (opening monologue) They say you can't choose your family. Well, that's probably best. If you could, the return policy would have to be really strict. (ending monologue) Okay, so no family is perfect. I thought I found a documentary online, but it turned out to be a sitcom from the '70s. The point is, you can't choose your family. You're stuck with them, good and bad. And that's OK. Because maybe the bad relatives are there to help you appreciate the good ones. The ones who have been looking out for you all along.

    • Samantha: I have an aunt!? What do you mean you forgot?
Regina: It happens. You forgot way more than I have.
Samantha: OK, you know what? I let it go when you forgot that I was allergic to walnuts. 'Cause you know what, it was nice to see everybody at the hospital again.

    • Andrea: I may be on the Jumbotron.
Samantha: Oooh, the Jumbotron. What is that? Like a robot of an elephant or something?

    • Dena: We should watch. I've never seen somebody I know on national TV. Except for my high school boyfriend on the news after the police dug up his yard.

    • Regina: The bowl that my mother passed down to me that I passed down to you.
Samantha: Oh, uhm, well, Amy complimented it and I just...
Regina: You gave it to her?!
      Samantha: Yeah?
Regina: She's always wanted that bowl. She only became friends with you so she could get the bowl.
Samantha: Yeah right. And Dena is only friends with me because oh, she wants this clock.

    • Samantha: What are you doing?
Howard: I'm going to my happy place. It's a place where I go whenever your mother's family comes up.
      Samantha: Your happy place?
Howard: It's a lumber mill in Orgeon. And I run it.

    • Andrea: This is me. 6th grade.
Tony Dane: (looks at Andrea's picture) Well, that is a lot of facial hair.
Andrea: Girls in gym threw chew toys at me. It took years of painful electrolysis to become the stone fox you see before you.
