- Small Creature:
  As they are entring Aku's Lair, the small creature that is dragged into the cave ressembles Max - the small hyperactive rabbit from the video game and tv-series Sam & Max.

- Star Wars:
  Again we get an episode loaded with Star Wars references. To begin with, when captured, Astor says the familiar phrase "I have a bad feeling about this.", a line spoken by at least one character in every Star Wars movie. The officious six-armed robot Chitron 6 looks a bit and sounds a lot like C-3PO. The two children going for help echoes C-3PO and R2-D2 being sent to Ben Kenobi. Astor loses their pursuers in an asteroid field, as Han did in Episode V. When Jack rescues them, his conversation with the princess is almost identical to when Luke spoke to Leia when he opened her cell (dressed in Stormtrooper armor) in Episode IV. And Aku noted how he "sensed" Jack's presence, much like Darth Vader did in the movie.
