The Guardian who guards the time portal in this episode, he almost looks alot like...... Brobot, one of the Street Boys from "Episode II (the Samurai called Jack)" Beside, they both had the same voices.

The Guardian appears to be a mock-version of Morpheus from "The Matrix" trilogy. They have the same deep voice, the same rimless sunglasses, same black suits, and they both are highly trained warriors. Also, we see Jack reflected in his sunglasses just as Neo was reflected in Morpheus'. -
Elder: Head north, to the city of Kojima...
This may be a reference to Hideo Kojima, the game designer who worked on such games as Policenauts (never released in the U.S.) and the Metal Gear series.
