After not watching Rurouni Kenshin for awhile, I saw this epiosde, and I loved it! So basically the Jinei guy steals Kaoru and Kenshin gets really mad. Apparently he's not mad enough so Jinei uses this technique to suffocate Kaoru but in the end after Kenshin turns back to his manslayer self and his about to kill Jinei, Kaoru breaks free. Jinei then suicides, I guess. (I thought he was already dead, to be honest). While this was all going on Yahiko and Sanosuke were just trying to find them, lol. The ending was also funny and sweet I guess. So it was a really good episode.moreless

  • A manslayer who is named Kurogasa kidnaps Kaoru in order to unlock the manslayer in Kenshin.

The episode begins with a small recap of Kurogasa kidnapping Kaoru. I was shocked when Kurogasa came out of nowhere and grap her. This is a good episode because it shows Battosai's first apperance. It shows that Kenshin has a dark history with him. I glad Kaoru broke the spell and stop Kenshin or he will end up as an angsty killer. After the fight, Kurogasa did something more surprising, he stab himself in the heart. Well the good news is Kenshin still himself and Kaoru is okay.moreless

  • Himura must save Ms. Kamiya by reverting back to the Battousai. He must give up his vow to never kill again in order to save the woman he loves.

Under the moonlight in the grassy fields Himura appears with the eyes of an angered samurai. But it isn't enough when battling a Manslayer from the revolution. Jinei Udoh underhandedly uses a stronger version of the Shin-no-ippou to paralyze Ms. Kamiya's lungs. There are only two ways in which the spell can be broken. First the person must overcome the spell with their will, but that usually takes someone with a strong swordsman spirit, which is impossible for Ms. Kamiya. The second is for the one who cast the spell to die. In order to win Himura slowly but surely reverted back to his Manslayer form. Jinei's arm was bent and his ligaments were torn, he could never hold a sword again. Himura flipped the blade and shouted, "For Miss Kaoru, I will become a Manslayer once again!" But load and behold Ms. Kamiya broke the spell. Himura went to save Ms. Kamiya, but she actually ended up saving him. If Ms. Kamiya hadn't broken the spell, then Himura would have returned to his Manslayer form once again.moreless

  • Kurogasa, having kidnapped Kaoru, waits for Kenshin to show up. He says that he wants Kenshin to get angry, so he might revert back to his former self. When Kenshin arrives, he and Kurogasa fight, with Kenshin's anger flaring. Kurogasa is defeated, and Kemoreless

A truly remarkable episode in the series. It reveals Kenshin's other side. Although he has gotten angry before, we get our first good peek at Kenshin's former self, Battousai the Manslayer. It adds an amazing drama and suspense to his fight with Kurogasa (which is amazing by the way). It has your senses tingling from start to finish.

  • Jenai kidnaps Kaoru and Kenshin (of course) goes to save her. In the end he saves her and Yahiko and Sano's rescue attempt disappoints them.

This is like one of MY PERSONAL favoriates...I love how funny it is that Yahiko and Sano feel like they need to go and save kenshin from Jenai owever you spell it) and how Kenshin in a way shows a little how he feels for Kaoru!! What's really exciting about this episode is that it's the first real step in Kaoru and Kenshin's relationship which, by the way, takes a while to form!! What also is really neat is the mix of emotions the episode presents and brings out in you..kind of a mix of anxiety, suspense, happiness, along with some funny things along the way!! GREAT EPISODE 10.0moreless
