AIRED:
Fred and Lamont are appalled when they see a sitcom, Steinberg and Son which amazing seems to be modeled on the life of Fred and Lamont. Fred and Lamont decide to check it out themselves and go to a taping of an episode and are shocked to see the similarites. In fact, the only thing different from the sitcom and Fred and Lamont's lives are the names of the characters and the fact that the cast is white. Lamont and Fred hire a lawyer and prepare a million dollar lawsuit againt the producers.moreless

  • Should be called \"Sanford and Son Jump The Shark.\"

    1.5
This episode would get my vote for Jump The Shark moment. After Redd Foxx’s return in Season Four the writing spiraled in quality. Realistic character interactions were replaced with juvenile one-liners and some every more juvenile physical comedy. The plot of “Steinberg and Son” is so absurd it brought the show to a new low and marked a solid decline in the comedic quality of the series. In the final two seasons “gimmick” shows like this one would become the rule instead of the exception, episodes like “Brother Can You Spare and Act, The Greatest Show in Watts, and Fred Meets Redd Foxx.” The final two seasons had a few great moments here and there but unfortunately these were few and far between.moreless
