And now the waters are very muddy as we have Stanford and Boise both losing. The Boise one was a shocker, but I saw this coming. Luck is still not equipped to face a strong secondary and that worries me about his NFL aspirations.

Oregon played a great game though. They were smart and efficient and you have to laud their overall efforts, even though they gave up 30. You might have to rethink them as title contenders now.moreless

    • Oregon Coach Chip Kelly: They had been up so much in all of their games, that they could really hold onto the ball and be methodical in their drives. I think taking them out of their rhythm and how they do things was big. ... We were up six, and we felt that opening drive of the second half was going to be a key for us. When we extended the lead to a two-score game, as much as you could feel comfortable with that quarterback on the other side, you felt a little more comfortable.

    • Stanford Quarterback Andrew Luck: I knew it wasn't going to be a cake walk. I had no grand illusions of just showing up and things just falling for our team because we just show up on Saturdays. We still have football left. For that I'm grateful. Hopefully more games after the conference season is over. There's still goals out there for us to accomplish.

    • Stanford Coach David Shaw: When you play a team with that kind of speed and that kind of talent and is as well-coached as they are, if you turn the ball over, you can't win. It was going to take our best game. I don't think we gave them our best game and they took advantage of it.
