Alec Baldwin is always going to be entertaining on this show and even though the material was not there, he brought in every sketch for a solid season premiere.
Cold Opening: Of course it is a political sketch and it is mocking the debates, but funny? Not so much.
Monologue: Kind of funny, even though you knew Steve Martin was coming out. Why Seth Rogen though?
Red Flag: Mocking perfume commercials, Kristen Wiig plays her usual offbeat character.
All My Children Wrap Party: Crew members from the past come back and mock over the top soap storylines like amnesia and comas. Not funny, not accurate.
WDHX: Mocking the delays by local news crews bygoogl having it create a problem for a reporter with a spider on her. Sad.
Weekend Update: What can you do? Seth is Seth, he'll have a few good lines, but it will never be that great a segment.
Who's On Top: Another game show, but wisely they have Bill Hader hosting. Kind of funny, but you'd be hard-pressed to argue it was not childish.
Top Gun 25th Anniversary: Impression segment. Bill Hader's spot on Alan Alda was only thing worth commenting on.
TCM: Wounded soldiers make odd requests. Typical last sketch of the night.
