Saturday Night Live

Season 29 Episode 14

Colin Firth/Norah Jones

Aired Saturday 11:30 PM Mar 06, 2004 on NBC

  • Trivia

    • Colin Firth announces the musical guest as "Laura Jones" instead of "Norah Jones".

    • In the "Horny Bellhops" sketch, near the end when Colin Firth's character is on the phone with Seth Meyers's character, Firth says "These guys are trying to roger me!" Closed captioning replaces "roger" with "bugger".

  • Quotes

  • Notes

    • Sketches not shown in the 60 minute version: "Hotel Wilson," "Meet the Press," "The Trial," "Sopranos II," "TV Funhouse: Cartoons & Government," and Norah Jones' performance of "What Am I To You?"

    • NBC never repeated this episode.

    • The E! version airs a dress rehearsal version of Weekend Update where Jimmy Fallon cracks up at the punchline to the joke about the paramedic who was fired for squeezing a woman's breast (he breaks when he says, "If you want to show a woman proper respect, you should go 'Aooga-aooga"). In the live show version, Fallon doesn't crack up at the punchline at all. Also: The E! version bleeps out Tina's mention of "Flounder Tits" as one of Jimmy Fallon's nicknames.

    • The E! rerun airs a dress rehearsal version of "Showbiz Grande Explosion" where Ferecito's (Fred Armisen's) punchline to the Kobe Bryant joke is that he got traded to the "L.A. Rapers" instead of the "Toronto Raped-Hers".

    • Amy Poehler played Martha Stewart during the dress rehearsal.

    • At the time this episode first aired, Any Gasteyer was appearing in the Broadway play "Roulette." She guest-starred as a favor to Lorne.
