A Saturday Night Live Community
Saturday 11:30 PM on NBC

Tracy Morgan will make his highly anticipated return to Saturday Night Live more than a year after a fatal car crash threatened to end his career, NBC announced today.

Morgan, who was a Saturday Night Live cast member from 1996 to 2003, will host for the second time on October 17. In June, Morgan told Matt Lauer he had hoped to return to comedy once he was back to feeling 100 percent.

But wait, there's more! NBC also announced that elasti-tongued Miley Cyrus will open the 41st season on October 3 and hot, hot, hot comedian Amy Schumer will make her hosting debut the following week.

Before the accident, Morgan had a comedy project at FX in the works, but that was put on hold while he recovered. FX President John Landgraf has said that he'll welcome Morgan back to continue the project when the comedian feels ready.

Are you excited for Morgan's return to Studio 8H?

Ummmm.... is this gonna be one of those Dick Clark-post-stroke things where we see him on TV and it's uncomfortable as he tries to act like things are still normal?

Yawn. He sucks in what he does. His biggest claim to fame is being in a car accident.
