I'll say it again, Justin: if you judge SNL simply on recurring sketches and characters, you'd never enjoy the show. Even the exhalted original cast years had Emily Litella and The Widettes.

    Emily had her moments.....b*tch.

That's where we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think Litella has aged well. Plus, it set the template for so many future SNL sketches that rehashed the same joke over and over again.

Like those of Paulie Herman and the Richmeister...

Perhaps, but Paulie and Richard weren't in the same place virtually every time they appeared. They had new scenarios and new people to react with. The Litella conceit was so one-dimensional that she couldn't even carry a sketch.

One thing that has aged well for me is Roseanne Rosannadanna. I love how her stories would always devolve into something so disgusting.

That, I'll agree with. The more descriptive Rosanne was, the funnier it became.

I was thinking of something. With how they brought Tina Fey on to play Palin, I wonder if for the new season they may have Rachel Dratch on to play Kagan.

I'll bet you Kristen will Play Kagen. I'd Rather have Abby or Nasim but that would break their 4 minutes max per show rule.

And most likely if either played her, it would get cut after dress and be replaced a Starfish/ Gilly/ (Future Kristen Wiig Annoying Character).

Yep, and you'll miss out on stuff like Scheeler Reels ('While the City Sweeps' from Kirstie Alley/Lenny Kravitz is my favorite), any dramatic-type sketch the show has ever done ('Tommy's Goodbye' from Luke Perry/Mick Jagger),or any random odd ball 10-to-1 sketch ('Hi-C & Turkey' from Danny Aeillo). All things casual fans never remember from the show.

Here are The Reccuring Characters s35 has done that I've Liked

    - The Mellow Show
    - Sparks of Love
    - Vincent Price's ...
    - Hollywood Dish
    - Song Memories
    - Alarm Clocks and More
    - MacGruber (The Betty White One's Only)

And I'm willing to bet none of those will make the "Best of 09/10 Season."

I think a Vincent Price sketch appeared in TBO 2006-07.
