And Jimmy and Tina and Maya. It feels like Season 29.

Wow, 3 former cast members anda two time hostin the first 10minutes of the show, that's gotta be some kind of record. And now a fourth former cast member in the first sketch. This episode is interesting already and its not even half over yet.

Why did Nasim come before Taran in the names?
good question. maybe they had some bad editing and didn't notice it.

Perhaps they thought his last name was Pillam and not Killam. I bet it'll be fixed by next week's episode.

So Katy Perry addressed her Elmo scandal by wearing a shirt with him on it while really showing more cleavage than she did in that video "Seseme Street" banned.

It should've gone Vanessa, Paul, Taran, Nasim, Jay. Maybe it'll be corrected next week.

That number has such an '80s feel, she would have been right at home performing it during one of executive producer Dick Ebersol's last three seasons on "SNL"...

Has Really!?! ever failed? I think it's the only thing with this cast that always works.

So he really is retiring? I thought that was just part of the whole bit and that it wasn't actually real, the way Amy was saying it, I thought hehad died.

This was probably the best premiere since 2007 with LeBron James (I enjoyed that one). It had too many characters, no doubt, but, its the season premiere, and when you get the season premiere and a former cast member, thats just what happens.

    Few observations:

Wiig looked almost spot-on like O'Donnell. Right down to those eyes.

Another thing from that sketch.... Apparently Wiig is going to be treated like a cameo from now on?

Pharoah and Bayer had pretty good first episodes. Paul was around here and there, and I barely remember seeing Taran. Nasim wasn't around too, too much, but it was a pretty busy premiere, so whatever.

I liked the allusion to Amy's good-bye back in 2008 at the end of Weekend Update. Clever.

Katy Perry was not as awful as she usually is live. There wasn't any moment when I had to cringe a little bit because she hit the wrong note. So, I guess I can't say Katy was going to be as bad as I thought.

It was a fun episode, and it kind of gives a lot of energy for the coming season.
