Does anyone wanna take bets on what actor/actress that recently starred in a film with an SNL cast member will host next?

    Melissa McCarthy (That Lady)
    Anna Faris (Andy S.)
    Charlie Day (Jason S.)

You'd think Seth would stop inviting Anthony C. after the 5th time.

The Grease parody? was cool and they now have a Japanese music video show not as good as the European one they did years ago but still funny.

Hmmm...well I was excited for this ep after such a good season so far but in -just- my opinion I didnt think it was great. I liked the Drake interview sketch, the cold open with Abbys impression, the "tell him" sketch and I think one other one but I cant remember what...Oh! The GOP debate one I think it was. I found the Lifetime one and the Shakespeare guy one very weird and just not very funny, the Manuel Ortiz show I find way more annoying than Whats Up With That and thought it left us a long time ago and I found the Japanese one to be too similar to Manuel Ortiz. WU was okay but nothing special. All in all, just felt like they just put a bunch of stuff together so they could have a Halloween break and Anna was very underutilzed. Id give it maybe a 7.5-8/10 (which for me is low because I hardly give anything below a 5).

I totally agree with you, but I would add the Lifetime game show to the like section personally.

    What Should Get Cut?
    - Cold Open
    - Digital Short
    - All of Weekend Update
    - Musical Performance
    - Manuel Ortiz Show
    - Japanese Teen Talk Show

    learned:

    * rule: SNL will turn ANYTHING into a game show, although this is meredith baxter birney and martha stewart's favorite game show

    * musical guest: Degrassi dude in da house!

    * a new halloween tradition to add to the eggs and toilet paper: bag jacking

    * "tell him" musical: very well-done, it hit a little too close to home , but very well-done

    * last skit gives new meaning to the term "assplode"...speaking of ass...nicki minaj

I missed the episode last night but just caught it on Hulu. It got off to a weak start with the cold open and monologue, but definitely improved after Update. Speaking of which, Weekend Update has usually been one of the weakest bits on the show lately, which is especially problematic since it goes on for so long. It's hard to believe that after this season, Seth will have been anchor for as long as Tina Fey and Dennis Miller.

As for the post-Update stuff I liked, the J-Pop talk show and the foppish boyfriend sketch stood out. Other show highlights would probably include the GOP Debate sketch.

Not a bad episode. I liked the digital short. The ending made me jump. And the J-Pop skit was pretty clever too.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Seth needs a co-host. Give him Nasim or Vanessa or a female writer.
