THis episode was decent but it was no Melissa McCarthy episode. (That was my fav this season.)

Was happy to see Amy back, and all of Weekend Update was great. I really loved seeing all the cast members that had recurring update characters there. The sketch of the night though goes to Cecily and Vanessa with the handbag selling...hilarious!

It's official. Season 38 will go down in the books as one of the worst seasons ever. At least in my opinion.

You're in a tiny minority on that one. 2012-13 had plenty of bald spots but it was nowhere near the worst.

I couldn't fit this into my review in the episode guide, but here's my annual awards and honors for 2012-13:

    *clears throat*

My tenth year of reviewing SNL ended on a more ambiguous note than usual. Somewhere along the way we were shafted out of one episode, unless 21 live shows is the new norm. This was a transitional year and not without awkwardness, but the seeds of SNL's future were once again sown by fresh faces and a heavier emphasis on more conceptual material.

Most Valuable Player: Bill Hader. Like there was any doubt. An all-time top ten cast member, Hader just kept doing what what he does and in the process smoothed out SNL's transition into the post-Wiig era. In spite of some awkwardness, 2012-13 holds it own against the previous season and Hader's leadership and steady hand was invaluable during the transitive process. That's not to say Bobby Moynihan wasn't consistently wonderful in a breakout year.

Rookie of the Year: Cecily Strong. I give the Oak Lawn, IL native a narrow edge over Kate McKinnon, for pretty much the same reasons why I made the same pick in my mid-season review back in January. Without a doubt, both actresses are primed to loom large in 2013-14.

Really? I will have to say I agree with you on a lot of it, except this. I thought Christina's episode was hilarious and I thought she was a great host. The Sirens, Tech Talk, & Dance Teacher were hilarious to name a few. To each his own, just wanted to voice my opinion too lol
