Wow, the host appearing during WU. Going to ask a dumb question: when was the last time that happened? I can't remember the last time I saw that. Also wondering how many of these sketches are from dress rehearsal. Lots of Hader in this one.

Wow. After that 2nd performance, this, more than ever! This reminds me a lot of the late-Nico, but without the cool backing band.

The YouTube sketch was also a hoot

"You Can Do Anything!" A little bit right on the nose, wouldn't you think, eh? It's those kind of sketches that turn younger would-be fans of the show into haters. Tho I totally get it with today's Trophies For Everything Generation. Sometimes all this technology isn't so great if people don't know how to use it properly. Like that auto-tuned "Friday" song.

Without checking I would say Gerard Butler. Depends on whether you count Jimmy, Tina and Amy or not.

Alec Baldwin as Tony Bennett on the season premiere. I remember it because after that, I remember wondering if ALL the hosts this season were going to appear in Update as some character. I think that would have been an interesting trend...

It recently occurred to me, that I think it could be said that Lana Del Rey is the January Jones of music.

I wouldn't put those 2 in the same category personally. I'm giving January the benefit of the doubt that she has not done alot of live television. I don't watch Mad Men but I have to assume she's better on there.

Overall, I'll give Lana 1 more album and if she fails, Then that's that.

From what I've heard, Lana/Lizzie isn't much of a live act, either. Since the SNL debacle she's worked on her stage presence, it seems.

As for JJ, she's done some decent work on "Mad Men," but a) she portrays the show's most polarizing character and b) she comes off looking bland and inconsistent compared to the 1-2 punch of Liz Moss and Christina Hendricks.

Somebody unplugged their electric violin & it was never the same. Definitely way ahead of their time.
