    Hi guys,

My thanks to Rish for starting the EDT to begin with, but due to a glitch in the CNet system no one can edit forum posts, so unfortunately I had to delete that thread and start a new one. It just looks sloppy if we have an EDT that's neither formatted nor has the correct date, and that thread up to that point was counterproductive to what we discuss here in the SNL forum. Again, nothing against Rish.

With that said, Segel becomes the second HIMYM cast member to host SNL, while a certain wispy British ginger makes her second go-around as musical guest.

IDK if you've seen it or not, but I thought he was pretty funny in 'Bad Teacher' as well, which just came out on DVD.

I've liked him in various things he's done; HIMYM, Bad Teacher, and I Love You Man.

I'd take that over a certain cast members R-rated comedy for women.

I first saw him in "Freaks and Geeks" which I loved and wished hadn't had such a short season.

I was told not to watch that but I did try... for half an hour. Then I quit.

Really? I thought it/he was funny but to each his own. Never saw HIMYM though. Or Bridesmaids.

Don't worry, you can catch up on "Mother" in repeats. Decent show, though I'm not a regular watcher.

It's not just "for women." That's a pretty big generalization. That's why it made over $200m at the box-office.

I remember hearing/seeing "Female Version of the Hangover"

PS, one of the biggest lies in movie history.

I remember hearing that too. Whether or not its true I cant say.

As for HIMYM, I thought about going back and renting it from the first season onwards (I cant watch a show at a random episode or season without seeing it from the very beginning) but I already have so many other shows I watch that end up taking precedent LOL

You want some reasons? How about...

    1- 90 Minutes Long
    2- Funny
    3- Thomas Lennon
4- Cameron Diaz (Personally, I liked her throughout the film; Especially her with the kids)
    5- Female Nudity
    6- No Puke
7- Movie Poster, Not Misleading (The poster for bridesmaids, 1/2 of them are barely in the film for .5 of it)
    8- Her Teaching Methods
9- Lucy Punch around the End
    10- The Carwash scene
    11- A Funny toilet joke
12- Kristen Wiig was not in the movie
13- The trailer didn't show every single joke in the film
    14- I Wasn't over-hyped (90% positive on rotton tomatoes)
15- I laughed, AND The audience I was with Laughed (Not so much Bridesmaids)
16- No fat to cut (As opposed to the 125 minute long Bridesmaids)

Except that Bad Teacher was only so-so and Bridesmaids wasa genuinely funny movieand had even Kristen Wiig haters loving her in the movie. Running time has virtuallynothing to do with a movie being bad or good. I'd rather watch a great 2 hr movie like Bridesmaids than a so-so 90 min. one like Bad Teacher. And really, female nudity is what you list as well for the movie being better? What are you, 14? The movie poster is another ridiculous one. How can you say "the poster was misleading, thus making it a bad movie"? Oh, and you all of a sudden like toilet jokes now even though you condemn them every single week on the show?No puke? That's probably my favourite ridiculous reason. The trailer? Another reason that doesn't lead any credence withyour"this movie is better" argument. Wasn't overhyped? My god. You know, other than around 3-4 reasons you gave, most of these are ridiculous and don't support your argument at all.

Clearly, your argument about Bridesmaids not making audiences laugh is ridiculous because people kept going again and again and again. It's sure to be held up as a standard much like Apatow's work like Knocked Up or Superbad (I know he didn't direct that, but he produced it).

1- I never said nobody should like Bridesmaids
2- If you laughed at Bridesmaids, fine whatever
    3- I don't like Judd Appatow stuff
4- When was I against a toilet joke on SNL?
5- Personally, if a movie drags, It's tough to defend it (Tron Legacy, Dances with Wolves among others)
6- I didn't say Bridesmaids was un-funny, it just wasn't funny to me.

Overall, its just opinion. I say alot that none of you agree with. You disagreed with me when I say Elton John was a bad host.

I didn't love it. I liked the first half and the second half dragged. I also didn't think he was that great of a host.

I stand by my comment though that it was light years ahead of the January Jones mess though.
