The great one off host is back, this time with Ohioan blues-breakers

Jim Carrey's last episode was one of the best of the 90's, in my opinion. Of course, Carrey is now a grandfather nearing fifty who's only done a few genuinely good movies over the past ten years, so things might be different this time.

The Black Keys, however, I am excited for. Brothers is an all-around great album.

On a side note, Wikipedia has Shia LeBeouf and The Who listed for this show date.

Someone messed with it. It's been fixed since.

I'm okay with Carrey hosting again, but why did we have to wait nearly 15 years for this to happen?

We've got Jim hosting in January, we know Dana Carvey is returning to host sometime in February, and now if we could only get Adam Sandler to finally host... that would be tremendous.

    Carvey gonna host again?

I want to have high hopes for this show, but it really just depends on if they give him good material. I'm keeping expectations low from now on.

If anybody saw Thursday's LNWJF, Carrey did the entire interview while on a tread mill. My excitement level just went up.

Watching the Saints-Seahawks game on NBC, I can tell they're trying a Greg the Alien sketch for tonight.

I just hope the show doesn't start late at this point.

It will... by at least ten minutes.

Sorry about your Colts, by the way.

Black Swan: I thought this sketch would have mentioned Natalie's recent news.

Meh Carrey's physical comedy is getting tiresome and the Soul Train skit was awful. Kristen's part was great and Carrey actually did well with his part.

    Three straight with no commercials!

    Finding Your Power: Funny

Brady Wilson: Funny but starting to get old.

Soul Train: Haven't seen this type in a while.

Jim Carrey is still capable of pulling off pratfalls and physical comedy, but the episode felt like the writers left all their sketches half-finished, thinking Carrey would make them work when show time came around. The result was an episode that was more or less consistently average. Still, I liked the cold opening and monologue, and besides the Bosley ad re-airing, there weren't any bad sketches.

I liked it when Jim said **** a few times in the "Soul Train" skit...
