Okay, now I'm excited for Goodman's return!
Kings of Leon...well...as much as I like them, I can't help but find this selection...desperate. Like they HAD to follow One Direction with whatever rock band has been on the show several times before...(Personally, I kinda wish they found someone harder than KoL, to counter One Direction a little better...I just don't think indie-rock is enough...)
Don't think we'll be seeing Alec for a while. Not until he has something big to promote, at least, and he goes a year without calling anyone a ****.
(Seriously, that is a censored word? I was using it in the sense of a piece of firewood.)
The prior bone-ups of Baldwin's didn't involve racial or homophobic slurs so serious that his impacted his professional career (e.g., having his MSNBC show cancelled). Note that after he called his daughter a pig, he didn't appear on SNL for two years. There's just no way for him to cameo and laugh off the slurs the way he did the the cell-phone-on-a-plane thing. No, I don't think we'll be seeing Alec on SNL for a while.
I'm surprised that they haven't lampooned Baldwin over these incidents yet. They've skewered friends of the show for less outrageous things in the past.
|I can kind of see them doing a bit sending up Baldwin's recent problems where John Goodman does an impersonation of him.|
Cold Opening: A press conference regarding the President's controversies about health care...Goodman appears as Linda Tripp...
Monologue: Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin watch from the Five-Timers Lounge scheming to get rid of Goodman...They send Martin Short in as a hired assassin...(Not what I THINK will be the monologue...I just think it would be awesome...)
Sketches: Now might be a great time to bring back "What Up With That?" Bill Hader cameos as Lindsey Buckingham, and Dan Aykroyd returns as he and Goodman bring back the Blues Brothers.
Weekend Update: If Hader cameos, now will be a great time to bring back Stefon, talking about New York's hottest clubs for the holiday season...And maybe also Tim Meadows can cameo to address the Facebook outburst...
First Musical Performance: "Supersoaker"
Second Musical Performance: Either "Wait For Me" or "Temple"
Cameos: Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, Tom Hanks, Martin Short, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi, Tim Meadows and whatever random celebrities they can find for "What Up With That?"
Overall, with the long overdue return of one of SNL's most beloved hosts, this is sure to be a big show...
You know, I know they would probably never do this but since they always introduce drunk uncles relatives i would really like to see drunk uncles "niece" drunk girl (Jeff Richards) comeback. I know that wasn't really his niece though.
Christmas whistle was okay. H&M have no clue about this one...
The Christmas whistle was hardest i laughed tonight and i'm thinking the H&M bit will go over better on youtube.
