    Until I looked the musical guest up, I thought Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were a ventriloquist act.

    Uh, no? What would you have expected the mandarins of SNL to do about Foxx? He was an Oscar-winning black comedian, coming in with a couple of his own writers. Were the (all white) bosses of SNL supposed to get up in his grill, saying, "That Stepin Fetchit shizz don't play here, son!" They've got two black guys in the cast, and neither of them are, pardon the term, house negros. Did they complain?


    Foxx did some "urban" humor sketches in his show that clearly came from him or his writers, and I laughed. I thought they were a breath of fresh air.

    So did I. It reminded me of Eddie Murphy at his best...

    If they ever release another song, I'd be surprised. Thrift Shop sounds very one hit wonder.

    He hosted the MTV music awards so he's big enough and I'm sure that's why he got the call.
