Past: 1.) Will Ferrel 2.) Phil Hartman (I HAD to mention him)
Present: Not a lot to choose from I'm afraid, but I like the off-beat Andy Sandberg.
On the subject of MADtv: I would love to hate that show, but after seeing season 11 & 12 I can't. I follow SNL for several years now, and I've seen most episodes (of all seasons). It has a great history, that's why I would love to hate the 'wannabee' MADtv. However, I don't. At this moment SNL seems to be feeding off that history, and nothing more. The show has really lost it since Tina Fey left. The last few seasons SNL tries very hard to be the grown-up show (with political sketches, trendy musical guests and P.C. hosts), but only succeeds in being boring. MADtv just goes for the gross-out, and it works! They don't pretend to be more than a comedy show, a point that SNL seems to miss. I hope things are going to look up for SNL in the near future, but after seeing the first episode of season 33, I'm not getting my hopes up.
