Is there a place where I can find Saturday Night Live Band MP3s? I really like some of their songs, even though we only get to here the beginning and the end of it.
Good question. I don't really know a lot about MP3s. That's right Conner, you stumped me. Congratulations.

haha sweet! By the way congratulations on your 18,000 post.

Anywyas, I think the SNL band should bring back their 1999-2000 theme song.

What ever happened to Jason Allen joining the cast as a featured player?

Jason Allen was just some teenager pulling a practical joke online. He posted something on his MySpace blog about auditioning for SNL and a couple of people mistook it for the real thing. As if SNL will ever hire another 19-year-old cast member...

If they are as talented as Eddie Murphy was at that age, I bet they would.

Anyway,.... An article was recently released about the campaign contributions of SNL castmembers over time, with Democrats being the obvious majority recipient:

    http://www.politicalbase.com/profile/dave/blog/&blogId=262

The only castmember listed that didn't give money to a major Democrats was Adam Sandler (he donated to the Republicans; Lorne, Jim Belushi, and Smigel, gave some to the Republicans). Are there any other notable or non-notable Republican or right-leaning castmembers or writers that have been apart of the show?

So Lorne gave Ralph Nadar a $1,000 to appear but not speak in the Carl Sagan's Global Warming Christmas Special?

To elaborate in detail: I finally managed to score some 1980-81 sketches via YouTube (specifically, from the Gould and Carradine shows) and it seemed that Chuck Rocket wasn't that bad after all. Outside of him, Piscopo, and Murphy, I don't think anyone in the Doumanian cast deserved to be on the show at all (including Gottfried), and those three actors ended up carrying most of those bad sketches.

As for the first few years after Ferrell left, it was clear that the show was getting more erratic; part of the blame could be put on Fallon and Sanz, but it could be aimed towards the unfocused writing as well. The change in direction after Year 31 was a slight reprieve, but you still have some inconsistency.

If anybody else wants to see these, search for Charles Rocket on SNL. Some of these were pretty great; I liked the "Billy-Gram" sketch a lot.

Anthony Michael Hall was in the first two "National Lampoon's Vacation" movies, "The Breakfast Club," and "Sixteen Candles." He is the quintessential 80s geek, but he's grown.

Hall was 17, Murphy was 19, Laraine Newman was 20. All three of these actors were cast members over two decades ago. I just don't think Lorne is really looking for wonderkinds anymore; he'd much rather have hard-boiled improv actors in their late 20s/early 30s.

...which airs on USA (I think). Like I said before, some people know Hall for reprising the Christopher Walken role in a half-forgotten 80s movie, but the rest of us know him the panty-stealing geek from "Sixteen Candles" or a recurring SNL sketch called "Craig Sundberg, Idiot Savant."

    1. When are the early rehearsals for the show held?

    2. What is the production schedule for the show?

    3. Has the production schedule been the same since October 11, 1975?

hey, you probably don't know this but you know how NBC's officla site for SNL has the recaps? Why did they never add the recap for Zach Braff/Maroon 5?

Do you think it was jsut because the summer hiatus had started so they didn't really care?

    1. The first rehearsals are held Friday morning.

    2. Buy or rent this DVD: http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=77634 (I had a hunch someone would eventually ask me that.)

    3. More or less, yes. Usually the week before the season premiere has an extra day of prep, mostly just to get everyone reacquianted.

Really? I thought they started Thursday.

So what happens on Thursday? I know Wednesday is the read throughs. And I heard Thursday is when the musical guests rehearse. What else goes down?

Whoops- I meant to say that the first dress rehearsals are on Friday.

Thursday is usually the first overall rehearsal day, and also when the musical guests come in to practice. It's also the day that the final approved scripts are written and printed.

Also When They announce Jonah Hill will they do what they did for The woman from My Big Fat Greek Wedding and announce From Super bad Jonah Hill because I hardly know who he is. Just wondering

I think the greater issue at hand is whether or not there will even be any shows after November 3rd. Negotiations with the Writers' Guild of America aren't going anywhere.
