If you haven't noticed we've had a shortage of GREAT hosts this year. Some of them have been really funny but Baldwin has been on too many times. I think that they should bring back some old cast members like Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal and Mike Myers to host. Please post your opinion.

I think they've been relying to much on hype and popularity than on talent. Like for example, Paris Hilton and Donald Trump are both popular, but have the creativity of a box of bran flakes. I would like to see a familiar face come back. Tommorrow's Jack Black is a great idea. Great host, great movie. And yes, I would like to see more former SNLers come back. All they really need is something decent to promote, or just come on a spur-of-a-moment hosting. It would be great.

I beg to differ- the hosts have been above average, but it's the writing that's hurting the show. Secondly, frequent hosts like Alec Baldwin and John Goodman are fan favorites, so it appears that they can host as often as they wish. Thirdly, I love seeing ex-cast members host too, but Lorne won't touch anyone or anything from the Ebersol years, save for Martin Short. If there is someone that is long overdue to host, it's Adam Sandler.

Though it would never happen, I'd like to see Sarah Silverman host.

I never thought I'd say it either, but I'd like to see her host as well. She would be a "revenge" host not unlike Ben Stiller in Year 24.

Besides, Eddie wants nothing to do with the show, and it would look pretty awkward seeing him revisit characters that he hasn't played in twenty-odd years.

I could see Billy Crystal hosting; it seems like he's in the same boat as Martin Short in that regard. Would he actually do it? Probably not.

This is out of left-field, but I'd like to see Mark-Paul Gosselaar host. He just finished NYPD Blue, he's got a big role on that Commander in Chief show which is a huge hit, and SNL could probably come up with a really hilarious Saved by the Bell sketch.

Why would they repeat a sketch? When Ferrell came back he did celeb. jeopordy but I see what you mean with Eddie not wanting to come back. If not Eddie then Mike Myers that would be awesome I always loved Wayne's World

That's different. James Brown in a hot tub had a very specific purpose, so it can only be run once. Then, there are recurring sketches, which the plot is known, but further comedy can be provided.

They've run one-joke sketches like James Brown in the hot tub into the ground more times than I can count.

It's not quite right without Dana Carvey.

It is possible that one would host and the other would cameo (it happened before). But doing it now may seema little weird. Didn't grunge pretty much die?

The fact that "Celebrity Jeopardy" is a fairly recent recurring sketch and "James Brown's Hot Tub Party" was a memorable one-time bit from 20 years ago makes quite a world of difference. Murphy has by and large let those characters go, as they were from a different period of time in his life, hence his reluctance to associate himself with the show. Honestly, I cannot picture a character like Mr. Robinson or Buckwheat being played by a middle-aged actor.

Orlie has a sense of humor. ANd a lot of the hosts aren't funny.

Dominic was also in LOTR. Whenever I've seen him on talk shows, he was hilarious.
