Fifty bucks sez you're wrong about Fred...and I offer that with trepidation, knowing that you have insider info.

HelloStuart - The Martha Stewart Inside Trader of the SNL forum. Fred reminds me of Tim Meadows: on for a very long time but didn't get into many sketches until later on.

Quite. If Lorne was planning on easing out Fred, he wouldn't be going to awards shows with him. And Fred was quoted elsewhere at that event that he wants to come back in the fall. Ergo, Fred will be back next season.

That makes Jay less necessary (his Obama isn't very good anyway). Kenan has had a Michaels-backed film project in development but there hasn't been any news about it in over a year, and Kenan otherwise doesn't seem to have any post-SNL prospects, so he'll probably be back.

I wish we knew how much salary headroom is being freed up by Kristen and Andy leaving. Enough for three new players? Really, they should hire four over the summer, especially if they know that Jason is leaving no later than after the fall election. They need to bring in new talent.

However unlike Fred, After awhile Tim decided to do "small" roles and "straight man" roles while as Fred is doing mainly the opposite.

Compared to Will Forte in Years 28 and 29, yes. However, Abby might be a better comparison point to Tim.

I don't think Abby's bad, It's just that the show doesn't know what to do with her. That might change now that "The Kristen Wiig Show" is going back to SNL.

Guys; I meant to post this a few days ago (on Monday) but I have beeen lollygagging around and let it slip my mind. The headline ends up being somewhat misleading, the only major info is that when you read between the lines, Fred apparently plans (at least he wishes) to end up passing Darell Hammonds record as longest cast member: Exclusive interview of Lorne & Fred: www.tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=730321

I don't see Hammond or Fred trying to pass him mentioned in that article at all.

Ditto. Besides, Seth will break the record first.

I'd say give Fred another year; I think he'll definetely be back but I just can't imagine him staying anymore seasons after that. As for Sudekis, I think he's already gone pretty much, but just not completely. I think its possible he stays as a cast member until Election Day but I actually think most likely he'll probably just make special guest appearances off and on as Romney until the election. Who knows though, Amy Poehler left in either November or December I think. Samberg has to be completely gone. It would probably be better if Abby left, it would open room in the budget for more new cast members. I see Taran being the primary replacement for Sudekis. What I'd like to see is many more featured players added.

At this point, based on what I've read so far, it sounds like all the current cast who want to come back will be back, except for maybe Amy. I read some post-season quotes from Jay and he sounds mighty confident that he'll be back.

"Amy" Elliott sounded pretty confident on Twitter.

By my math, it'svery likely that the Season 38 finale in May 2013 will be a major bench mark for the show: episode 750. (not counting specials). They would have to do 23 episodes, a distinct possibility given its an election year. If they do 22 again as they did for Season 37, it would mean its likely the season 39 premiere in Sept. 2013. would be the 750th episode.

Dare I say for #750 the host would be: Kristen Wiig (I am an absolute fan and Lorne said in the New York Times last year that she is in the top 3 or 4 cast members in all the show's history).

You're off by one: this year's season finale was show #724. Thus, next year's season finale would be #746. Let's see that math.

LOL. Yeah I remember a lot of really irate math teachers back in the day screaming "show your work!!"

I don't recall #750 being remarkable in any medium.

The Giants made a somewhat big deal out of it when Barry Bonds hit his 750th homer.

If the Twitter claims are correct, then Lorne told the cast that everyone was welcome back in the fall sometime in April.

Oh ya, when Hank Aaron hit #750 in the Oakland Coliseum on 06/18/76 as a member of the American League Milwaukee Brewers off losing reliever Jim Todd in the top of the 9th on a 2-2 count with 1 out. Barry who? There's no one named Barry on the home run record list. Nope.
