And...this must be said, vulgar though it is: they have to have Dennings host someday just to do the Return to the Planet of the Enormous Hooters sketch.

    I like that

I agree with some of you who would love to see Kat Dennings host Saturday Night Live, and I, for one, am definitely in favor of it.

I think she'd blend in real well with the cast of SNL, and she'd be perfect in such skits as "The Return of the Planet of the Enormous Hooters" or "The Girlfriends Show". And, when her time comes, whether it happens later this season or next season, don't be surprised if she brings her co-stars Beth Behrs and Garrett Morris as her special guests.

Unfortunately for Dennings, she's stuck on a sitcom that is so poorly written and directed that, if you watch the show, she comes off looking like a hack. She's actually a good actress, but that show makes everyone look bad. It's just a horrible hunk of crap. They ought to have Dennings and Behrs host SNL out of sheer mercy. Plus it would be a good excuse to bring Garrett back for a cameo (again).

    Ratings > Quality

They picked Ben Affleck to Promote Reindeer Games
Steve Martin for Pink Panther 2
    Megan Fox for Transformers 2
Olsen Twins for New York Minute
    Colin Farrell for Alexander
Robert De Niro for any Meet the Parents/Fockers Movies
    Tom Green for His Show?

    End of story.

I'm wondering what the favorite sketches of the season are so far. For what purely made me laugh the most, the Sirens sketch from the Christina Applegate episode and the Z-shirts sketch from the Kevin Hart episode are my favorites. Anybody else?

Not gonna scan back through all the shows but:

Puppet Class (not only the best sketch of the year but perhaps of the last five years)
Swarovski Crystals (Stu, they should be showing the last one in your improv classes as an example of how to act off-cue and be hilarious without upstaging your scene partner; Cecily's technique is flawless.)
    Hobbit Sequels
    Long Island Psychic
Any of Cecily's Girl At The Party... bits
    Australian Screen Legends
    Lincoln (Director's Cut)
    Royal Family Doctor
...And I think the Thanksgiving sketch that was cut at dress from the Renner show might have been quite funny if they'd tightened it up

Bombs were basically anything Fred was in, except for the Euro-porn lampoon sketch.

This season has disappointed me, but post-Bieber has been and looks promising. Here's my favorite sketch from each episode:

MacFarlane: Puppetry Class (was Lids before Gangnam Style got too annoying, Solid opening)

    Gordon-Levitt: g.o.b Tampons (Dud episode)

    Craig: Mars Mission (DUD)

Applegate: Sirens, Tech Talk was good too (Good episode)

    Mars: Pandora (Good episode)

C.K.: Fox & Friends (DUD episode, but i mean it was after Hurricane Sandy, so i'll give them that)

Hathaway: Homeland (Disappointing after her first two shows)

    Renner: Coroner (94-95 returns, awful)

Foxx: Swarovski Crystals (Ehh, i also liked the return of J-Pop America Fun Time Now)

Short: What Up With That? (Good, but felt weird and had the most cameos i've seen in years)

Lawrence: Top Dog Chef (though that skit was funny, but bad episode, i mean Danielle was just strange)

Levine: Catfish (not a bad episode, not a good episode)

Bieber: The Miley Cyrus Show (why did he have to host, he's losing relevancy quick)

Waltz: Fox & Friends again (OK episode)

Hart: The Situation Room: joke was so stupid and hilarious (OK episode)

Timberlake: It's A Date (ok, better than his 3rd stint)

i will say this: the musical guests have been near excellent this year.

My favorites: Mumford & Sons, Muse, Fun., Paul McCartney, The Lumineers, Alabama Shakes, JT

Fun.'s second performance is almost a response to what occurred through the tri-state area that week. When I hear that song, It brings back a week I don't think I'll ever forget because I was involved and without power for over a week.

Okay, I'll give some reviews of all the episodes so far...

    MacFarlane/Ocean:

Host: 3/5. He had his moments, but there were a few too many times where it just felt like he was trying to mimic his Family Guy antics.

Musical Guest: 3/5. Good singing and an interesting set...Still could have been more to it...

    Best Sketch: Puppetry Class

    Worst Sketch: Drill Sergeant

    Gordon-Levitt/Mumford:

Host: 3/5. I appreciate the effort he put into his characters despite the writing.

Musical Guest: 3/5. Watching the performance again online, I realize I might have been a little rough on them. But I still rate everyone based on how they did themselves justice on stage, not just how good their music is. I consider their performance merely respectable (still love their music though...)

    Best Sketch: Hypnotist

    Worst Sketch: My Daughter

    Craig/Muse:

Host: 2/5. I would say he was trying, but he looked quite frantic at times and the several bad sketches didn't help.

Musical Guest: 4/5. This just barely gets a four, because there wasn't nearly as much awesomeness as last time. But on its own, it was still quite strong.

Best Sketch: A Sorry Lot We Are

Worst Sketch: A tie between Mars Mission and Loving Couple

    Applegate/Pit:

Host: 2/5. Could have done well, but she barely got to do anything aside from the dance instructor sketch...

Musical Guest: 2/5. With weak singing and a sloppy choreography, these guys are lucky to even get a two...But as it was, it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the more infamously bad musical performances...

    Best Sketch: Tech Talk

Worst Sketch: The Californians (Didn't like Dance Studio either)

    Mars:

Host: 4/5. I'll just leave it at this: Mars has sealed a return appearance for his next album...

Musical Guest: 4/5. Also put everything into his performances...

    Best Sketch: Pandora Internet Radio

Worst Sketch: The Brad Pitt Commercials

    C.K./Fun.:

Host: 3/5. Whatever, I liked him...

Musical Guest: 3/5. They were enjoyable, but they also could have been better...

    Best Sketch: Lincoln

    Worst Sketch: Mountain Pass

    Hathaway/Rihanna:

Host: 4/5. Maybe the sketches weren't the best, but SHE'S still among the best...

Musical Guest: 3/5. She can sing alright and her sets can be creative (albeit cheesy). I just hope this is the last we see of her for a while...

    Best Sketch: Homeland

Worst Sketch: McDonald's Firing (I think it was actually alright, but these characters are still kind of annoying)

    Renner/5:

Host: 2/5. He just barely saves himself from a one by the mere fact that he was a miracle compared to the Steven Seagals and Paris Hiltons of the past...

Musical Guest: 3/5. They were enjoyable enough, but like Rihanna, I'd like a break from them...

Best Sketch: The Stand Off (Monologue is a close second)

Worst Sketch: The Californians (Didn't like the Coroner sketch either)

    Foxx/Ne-Yo:

Host: 3/5. The black stereotypes got annoying, but he still committed.

Musical Guest: 4/5. Not my favorite musician, but he put on some fun performances...

    Best Sketch: Swarovski Crystals

Worst Sketch: Bitch, What's the Answer?

    Short/McCartney:

Host: 4/5. Breathes life onto the stage...

Musical Guest: 4/5. Also breathes life onto the stage...

    Best Sketch: Royal Family Doctor

Worst Sketch: What Up With That? (I actually enjoyed all the sketches, this one just comes the closest because of its recurrence...)

    Lawrence/Lumineers:

Host: 3/5. Oh come on, I thought they really tried with this one...

Musical Guest: 4/5. Put on a show...I would give them a perfect five if the singing wasn't off at parts...

    Best Sketch: More Hobbit

    Worst Sketch: Love Letters

    Levine/Lamar:

Host: 2/5. Yeah, this one was pretty forgettable...

Musical Guest: 3/5. Nothing wrong with his performance, but he didn't do anything to stand out either...

Best Sketch: YOLO (Second place goes to Rumble)

Worst Sketch: Firehouse Incident (I just don't get it...)

    Bieber:

Host: 2/5. Also pretty forgettable (but better than people thought it would be).

Musical Guest: 2/5. Like his hosting and his music in general, overrated by fans and underrated by haters...In other words, just kinda mediocre...

Best Sketch: Bieber Doubles (Found it the least dumb)

    Worst Sketch: The Californians

    Waltz/Shakes:

Host: 3/5. Don't consider him a big breakout, but he definitely brought his all...

Musical Guest: 5/5. Exceeded my expectations greatly! A flawless performance!

Best Sketch: DJesus Uncrossed (Yeah, I know it was controversial, but I still found it funny)

Worst Sketch: Tippy and Regine are tied...

    Hart/Macklemore & Lewis:

Host: 3/5. Yeah, he was pretty funny...

Musical Guest: 4/5. Full of energy! They really lit up the stage!

    Best Sketch: Z Shirts

Worst Sketch: Barnes & Noble Firing (These characters could get VERY grating...)

    Timberlake:

Host: 4/5. Not quite his best, but an improvement over last time. Best show so far...

Musical Guest: 4/5. Another big, energetic performance!

Best Sketch: Damn...Tough choice...I'm gonna have to go with It's a Date.

Worst Sketch: The Tales of Sober Caligula

That sketch turned out not to be particularly controversial. Apparently NBC got relatively few complaints about it.

They can count themselves lucky that a lot of dissenters were too lazy to do more than comment on the video on Facebook. There were quite a few of those.

Yeah, I mostly went by the uproar on Facebook...A lot of idiots complaining about how "liberal" SNL has gotten, and daring them to do a Muhammed sketch, even though they've made fun of all sorts of religions over the course of the show...

Mancow Muller expressed his disdain on his radio show... and that was probably it.
