During the closing credits, Will Ferrell held up a sign that read, "Thank You Tim Herlihy," while many of his fellow cast members shouted "Herlihy!" It was Tim Herlihy's last show. He had been with "SNL" since 1994, serving as writer, head writer, and eventually producer. Herlihy's voice made it on the air for his final show, as he played "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" winner John Carpenter's father in the evening's cold-opening.
