Will Forte's mustache comes off in the Justin and Kermit sketch.
During the "Omeletville" sketch, Justin's character keeps pressing the PLAY button on his tape recorder to play different music, but he never actually presses the STOP button.
Tina Fey: After a week of speculation by the press, Rush Limbaugh admitted on Friday that he is addicted to painkillers, and, I'm sorry to say, hoagies. Limbaugh blames his addiction on a botched back operation ...and lesbians.
Tina Fey: In an effort to improve her image, Shannen Doherty has signed on to produce and act in a new sitcom about a young woman with a reputation for being difficult and mean, but who's really kind at heart. Doherty will play that woman's bitchy friend.
Tina Fey: When voters in California went to the polls Tuesday for the gubernatoral recall race, they found the names of the 135 contenders on a ballot six pages long, thus making it the longest thing most Californians have ever read.
Tina Fey: In his first news conference after being elected Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger promised to "clean house in Sacramento." He also threatened to "molest the energy crisis" and to "date-rape the deficit."
Nick Lachey: To be honest, she can't even cure a ham.
Jessica Simpson: Aww, is the ham sick?
Nick Lachey: Hi, I'm Nick Lachey, formerly of the band "98 Degrees."
Jessica Simpson: And I'm Jessica Simpson, formerly of the band "Jessica Simpson."
(The music plays, then stops)
Justin: Bring it on into Omeletville!
Ashton Kutcher: (to 50 Cent) This is a double punk 'cuz you didn't know you were gonna kill someone and Dax didn't know he was gonna die!
Ashton Kutcher: I'm Ashton Kutcher, and I'm awesome!
Tina Fey: That's really bad, 'cause what lawyer Pamela Mackey did by mentioning the woman's name, is to put her at risk of further harassment. A lawyer like Pamela Mackey of the Colorado firm Haddon, Morgan, Mueller, Jordan, Mackey & Foreman -- which is probably in the 303 area code -- should know that people can look up a name, like Joe Smith or Pamela Mackey, on the Internet and learn everything about them, and call them and mess with them and stuff!
Justin: What's your favorite song?
Steve: The one you do about Britney.
Justin: Okay... what's your second favorite song?
Chris Matthews: I'd call you a media whore but that would be offensive to whores.
Kermit the Frog: Justin, can you apologize for being a douchebag?
Jessica Simpson: And people say I'm not EDU-MA-CATED or whatever. If I'm so retarded, then why does it say "functionally retarded" on my driver's license?
The "Omletteville vs. Benny's" sketch had a different ending at dress rehearsal. A strip club owner played by Fred Armisen came out at the end of the sketch and offered Timberlake and Parnell's characters jobs doing their routines in front of his club.
Sketches/segments removed from the 60-minute edit include: "Schwarzenegger Press Conference," "A Message From Nick Lachey & Jessica Simpson," "The Sharon Osbourne Show," "Carl Weathers For Governor," and "Amy Loves Justin."
In the NBC rerun of this episode (as well as the 60-minute edit), the part during the "Punk'd" sketch where Christina Aguilera (Maya Rudolph) sings "Beautiful" is shortened so that way she's only heard singing the last part of the song and not the whole thing (this was probably done for legal reasons). The 60-minute edit of this episode features the following edits: The "Kermit and Justin Duet" sketch has the word "douchebag" bleeped out, and the "Benny's vs. Omeletteville" sketch is from dress rehearsal (and has offensive language bleeped out).
The NBC rerun also adds the "Fear Factor Junior" sketch from the Donald Trump/Toots and the Maytals episode and the "Passion of the Dumpty/Bush Campaign Commercial" TV Funhouse from the Ben Affleck/N.E.R.D episode. The segment that is removed is Justin's third musical performance.
Originally aired on the 28th Anniversary of the airing of the first SNL episode.
This is the first time on SNL since the Sarah Jessica Parker/REM episode that there have been three musical performances, something that hasn't happened on SNL recently.
Al Franken becomes only the eleventh former cast member to be spoofed on "SNL." He is played by Jeff Richards, who joins Gilbert Gottfried (played by Jimmy Fallon), Paul Shaffer (Gary Kroeger, Mark McKinney, and Chris Kattan), Rob Schneider (Kevin Nealon), Billy Crystal (Schneider), Robert Downey Jr. (Chris Kattan), Adam Sandler (Fallon), David Spade (Kattan) Janeane Garofalo (Kattan), Dennis Miller (Dana Carvey and Fallon) and Eddie Murphy (Tim Meadows).
Director Beth McCarthy-Miller has gone on record saying that Justin Timberlake was one of the best hosts ever. Expect him to host again in the future.
Since Justin Timberlake was both the host & musical guest, his songs were introduced by staff writer Steve Higgins, Jimmy Fallon, and Maya Rudolph.
In the "Punk'd" sketch, Justin wears the same shirt as Jack Black did last week in "The Wade Robson Project" sketch.
