The late-80s cast is in fine form by this point, spring of their second season (third for Lovitz, Dunn, and Miller), but lackluster skits and a lackluster host make this episode mediocre at best. For a good example, check out the \"dumb criminals\" sketch towards the end: Nealon, Lovitz, Carvey and (especially) Hartman are doing hilarious character portrayals, but the repetitive nature of the sketch sucks the funny right out. And the closing sketch, where Carvey\'s George Will co-hosts Friday Night Videos with Justine Bateman, is bizarre if you\'re being kind, terrible if you\'re not. Bateman does little to prove why she should have had a post-Family Ties career, and her cue-card reading skills leave something to be desired.
