Amy Poehler: Yeah, Seth, there's no way we're having a three-way with you.
Seth Meyers: Just like there was "no way" the Sox were coming back from 3-nothing down to the Yankees? Ritz Carlton, room 434, and bring a credit card for incidentals, if you know what I mean...
Tina Fey: You mean condom and porn movies?
Seth Meyers: Oh, I was gonna say Pringles, but yours are better.
Amy Poehler: According to a new Democratic poll released today, 50% of Vice President Cheney's daughters are still gay.
Tina Fey: In a bid to court ex-New Yorkers, Rudy Giuliani and Ed Koch have recorded a radio ad for President Bush that will run all over Florida. The ad begins, "Hi, we're the reason you left."
Sketches not shown in the 60 minute version: "Rap Night," "TV Funhouse: John McCain," "Goodwin Wig & Toy," "Election Map Colors," and Eminem's performance of "Just Lose It."
this was the highest rated episode for season 30.
Finesse Mitchell does not appear until the goodnights.
Sketches cut after dress rehearsal: a repeat of the Dr. Porkenheimer commercial from the Ben Affleck/Nelly episode, a Scott Wainio mini-film called "Restraining Order", a talk show spoof centered around crime fighting, and two "Bear City" mini-films (one about a bear buying cigarettes and another about a high school romance).
Three sketches featuring Chris Parnell were all cut after dress rehearsal. One was called "Halloween Intervention," which featured Parnell dressed up as a baby at a Halloween party. Another sketch featured the return of Parnell's Terrye Funck character from the Jeff Gordon/Avril Lavigne episode. A third sketch called "Divorce" featured Parnell and Kate Winslet as a married couple who have to tell their children (Amy Poehler nd Will Forte) that they're getting a divorce.
Kate Winslet later said that she hated doing the singing and dancing for her monologue. She was also incredibly nervous about doing a live show, which resulted in her only appearing in a few sketches on the live show.
At the beginning of the closing credits, Kate Winslet yells at Eminem for trying to do something to her. This exchange was removed when the episode was reaired.
The cold opening featured a parody of the recent Osama Bin Laden tape. The Al Qaeda leader mentions his disdain for John Kerry's wife and how "evil" it was for a pop star to lip synch on a live show, an obvious jab at the Ashlee Simpson debacle from the previous week.
