Way before Kevin Spacey hosted this year to promote "Superman Returns," he did a bunch of movies around this time, including "The Usual Suspects" (directed by "SR" director Bryan Singer). His first hosting gig of "SNL" was nothing short of promising. He played it straight as William Hurt during the David Letterman sketch, but further showed his comic prowess when playing Christopher Walken and geezer duo Jack Lemmon/Walter Matthau (the latter he cusses alot, but it was funny!) during the "Star Wars 20th Anniversary" sketch, and joined in the rowdy antics as Al Pacino in "The Joe Pesci Show," and Rodney Dangerfield (Darrell Hammond) appears as well. Too bad he didn't display that many impressions this season (a dress rehearsal sketch - the Vincent Price Mother's Day Special - promised that Kevin would return as Jack Lemmon, but why wouldn't Lorne share that with us?).
