Tina Fey: Toymakers Mattel announced this week that they are releasing a Cher doll. The doll is 8" tall, fully poseable, and made of the same sturdy plastic used to make Cher.
Sketches/segments not shown in the 60 minute version: Weekend Update, Bon Jovi's performance of "You Give Love A Bad Name," "Corn Chip Nail Tips" (rerun 10/7/00), "Save the Starving Actresses," "Moulin Rouge," "A Message from Shaq," and "Bloder Brothers in a Sports Bar."
Sketches cut after dress rehearsal: a short film about treadmills; backstage, Lara Flynn Boyle, Tracy Morgan, and Lorne remind everyone about the upcoming Mother's Day holiday; at a wedding reception, the groom (Will Ferrell) is upset with his bride (Lara) for ruining his tuxedo with cake; and a sketch about the stories of truckers.
Lara Flynn Boyle was the second cast member from The Practice to host SNL.
Chris Kattan developed a herniated disk during the "Golden Girls" sketch . He was in pain for many weeks afterwards. Contrary to what some believe, Kattan didn't have a seizure during the sketch. He choked on some food and fell out of the chair.
Many people assumed that John Goodman was going to host this episode since it would have marked his twelfth straight year of hosting the show. Goodman did not, breaking his streak. He will instead host his twelfth show early next season.
