      • Writer William Burroughs (a hero of Michael O'Donoghue) reads excerpts from his novel "Naked Lunch." Between the dress rehearsal and live show, Dick Ebersol ordered O'Donoghue to have Burroughs trim his six-minute reading down to three minutes. O'Donoghue never relayed the order to Burroughs, who read for six minutes on the live show. Edit
