John Travolta picked Continents for $600, but the $800 clue (the Daily Double) was revealed.
Matthew Perry: Hey Kattan, do yourself a favor and stick to doing characters that don't speak!
Alex Trebek: Let's see your answer: Miso, a type of soup. That's excellent! And your wager: Horny. Me so horny.
John Travolta: Come on, that's hilarious!
Alex Trebek: No it's not.
Alex Trebek: For $0, here is your daily double clue:
Recording: Asia.
Alex Trebek: Mr. Travolta?
Recording: Asia.
(Buzzer sounds as John Travolta does not give an answer)
Alex Trebek: Time is up. The correct answer was "Asia."
Matthew Perry was the fourth cast member from Friends to host SNL.
The music used in this episode's montage would not be used for the rest of the season. However, it would become the montage music for the following two seasons.
NBC never reran this episode in its original timeslot. However, it later appeared on Classic SNL in 2004.
Sketches/segments not shown in 60 minute version: Weekend Update, "Space, the Infinite Frontier," "The Kevin Franklin Show," "Good Morning with Liza" and Oasis' performance of "Acquiesce."
Michael Keaton: Val Kilmer and George Clooney Suck!
In the "Celebrity Jeopardy" sketch, Michael Keaton's Final Jeopardy answer was "Val Kilmer sucks" and his wager was "George Clooney sucks". This is a reference to their roles as Batman. Keaton played Batman in 1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns, Kilmer played Batman in 1995's Batman Forever, and Clooney played the Caped Crusader in 1997's Batman and Robin.
