    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (0)

    • QUOTES (4)

      • Jimmy Fallon: Much of the Republicans' success is due to President Bush, who made campaign appearances in fifteen states in five days. This is the hardest Bush has worked since that time he tried to walk home from Mardi Gras.

      • Tina Fey: Elizabeth Dole claimed victory on Election Day, with a big win in the North Carolina senate race, beating Democrat Erskine Bowles. Bowles said he will now focus on his other lifetime goal, finding a tiny bike license plate that says "Erskine."

      • Seth Meyers: (pretending to talk to his dad on a cell phone) Yeah, I know "MADtv" is on... I don't know, tape it! You signed a SADD contract with me! Honor it! Honor the contract!

      • Jimmy Fallon: Former Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris was elected to the House of Representatives Tuesday. Voters said they chose Katherine Harris because (in Southern accent) "I done seen her on my TV box before, I'm gonna vote for her!"

    • NOTES (6)

      • Sketches not shown in the 60 minute version: "Swiffer Sweepers" (rerun 10/12/02), "Ferey Muhtar Talk Show," "Dropping the L.B's with Missy Elliot," "Glenda Goodwin: Attorney at Law," "Community Accents," and Eve's performance of "Satisfaction." This episode adds the "Nutri-Quik" commercial from the Matt Damon/Bruce Springsteen broadcast.

      • The "Bikini Wax" sketch had a different ending in the dress rehearsal. Rachel Dratch (as herself) went crazy and began destroying the set (like last week's "Board Game" sketch). At one point she shouted, "Tina! I'm gonna get you guys!"

      • Anthony Hopkins was originally supposed to host this episode. He dropped out for unknown reasons. Nia Vardalos was originally scheduled to host the next week, but she was bumped up when Hopkins canceled.

      • During his appearance on "Weekend Update" Seth Meyers mentioned that his father was watching MADtv. Seth's younger brother Josh Meyers was a cast member on Fox's sketch comedy program MADtv from 2002 to 2004.

      • Amy Poehler does not appear in the original live broadcast.

      • Tina Fey's mother, Jean Fey appeared in the monologue.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • The songs played during Seth Meyers' ten-year reunion commentary include "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" by the Spin Doctors, "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-a-Lot, "Unbelievable" by EMF, and "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" by Boyz II Men. All four songs were released in either late 1991 or early 1992.
