- Sisqo's microphone went dead during the middle of his performance during the live. He had to pause and have a crew member toss him a new one. The dress rehearsal version is now seen on reruns.

- Contrary to what was said in his monologue, the producers did not ask Tobey Maguire to host this episode. Maguire bumped into Molly Shannon at an Oscar party a month before this episode, and the two really hit it off. Consequently, Shannon convinced the producers to let him host when somebody dropped out.
