Saturdays with Herb Sheldon is a 1956 American children's entertainment show that was similar to other shows like Howdy Doody that had the sole purpose of entertaining the baby boomer generation using live television broadcasts. Hosted by Herb Sheldon, the show provides young viewers a variety of songs, jokes, entertaining movies and cartoons. Sheldon uses two toy puppet characters; Egbert, a bookworm and Ummley, a steam shovel, along with an old piano, known as Ricky Ticky, to entertain the children with songs, skits, jokes and games.
