Why was the gang dressed Hawaiian when the barbecue was originally a country-western one?
This episode is another one of those episodes, similar to the 3rd season of the original SBTB series where the entire cast and this time including Dennis Haskins (Principal Belding) were not in school, the Max, or any other places as they were in the school episodes.
Frank Bonner, who plays Mr. Harrington, is best known for his portrayal of loud-dressing, smarmy salesman Herb Tarlek on the TV series WKRP in Cincinnati from the late 1970's-early 1980's. He has worked as a director on many TV shows including WKRP..., Head of the Class, Just the Ten of Us, City Guys, The Mommies, Evening Shade, Who's the Boss and Frank's Place.
This is the first of seven episodes set during the summer at the Palisades Hills Country Club. These episodes were shown weekly along with a "regular" episode of SBTB:TNC during the series' first run. This "season within a season" concept was used on the original Saved by the Bell and would be returned to by ...The New Class in later seasons. Frank Bonner (Mr. Harrington) and Clare Salstrom (Alison Harrington) are featured guest stars in these episodes.
The title is a pun of the more common phrase "All work and no play".
