The episode starts with the gang hanging out at The Max and Tony, as usual, slow to serve the gang their food order. He reveals he was looking at some revealing photos of Cindy Crawford posing with a cigar in her mouth. They stupidly conclude that since other high profile celebrities are open about smoking cigars then at Tonys next party, theyre going ot try it out for themselves to look "cool." They light up just as the girls are walking outside. Liz is in disbelief and tells them it makes your hair smell, teeth yellow, etc. when Maria cuts her off and says she wants to try one because "all of the cool famous people that are doing it." Right after though, Nicky ends up throwing up and swearing off cigars forever. The next day at school Katie brings in pamphlets detailing how bad cigars are and the hudreds of illegal chemicals involved with them. While the facts finally get through to Eric, Nicky, and Maria, Tony shrugs it off and says hes still not going to quit. The gang tells Tony that hes addicited to which he denies and says to prove it he wont smoke another cigar until after the upcoming football game against Westwood. Unfortunately the pressures of the big game get to him as hes caught smoking on school grounds by Belding. Belding suspends him for the upcoming Westwood game to his shock and dismay and pleads with Belding for another chance to which Belding declines. Frustrated, Tony listens to the game at home on the radio and when Bayside goes down 21-0 he instantly turns off the radio in frustration. Maria stops by to see how hes doing and he says not well and that he needs to smoke another cigar. Maria tells him that his usage of cigars has singlehandedly runined his life, especially with football. The following scene was cornball city and felt straight out of an "After School Special" though. Tony rips the cigar in half in an "act of defiance...LOL." and Maria gives him a hug and says shes proud of him for finally quitting cigars as the episode fades to black.

The second plot involves around Bedling trying to get the extra credit he needs to graduate. He ends up taking a Drama Class where him and the teacher dont get along. Belding performs horribly in class and wants to quit when the teacher threatens to turn over his college credit history to the school board thus forcing him to stay in the class. Beldings final comes up and he has the cross-dressing prag (complete with blonde wig and all) named Screech as his co-actor. Because he was able to put up with Screechs disgusting and wacked out behavior, the teacher passes Belding and tells him never to work in the acting industry ever again.

Overall it was a pretty good episode but the cigar plot couldve been handled a little better. I know its SBTB and they gotta follow the SBSB handbook guidelines when it comes to controversial subjects but IMO Jessie and her caffiene pill addicition was worse. All in all though a decent message type episode besides the now everyday occurance of Belding and Screech doing absolutely nothing but wasting air time. I really do feel bad for the actors during that particular time of their careers.moreless
