  • The gang are all looking for Summer jobs at the mall. No one seems to have trouble finding a job besides Katie. Whether its bad luck or lying on an application, she just cant catch a break. Will Katie be able to land a job or will she end up jobless???moreless

The episode starts off with the gang all scrambling around trying to find jobs at the mall. Ryan gets a job at a store called Media Mania and ends up hooking Nicky up with a job there too. Liz finds a job at an ice cream place. Maria runs the nightclub so shes already got one. Eric got a job at a gym but what was hard to watch was that both Katie and Eric applied for the same position at the gym and with only one spot available, the manager went with Eric to be the one to hire. The gym manager did tell Katie though that if she can attract enough customers to join the gym then theyll be a job at the gym waiting for her. In the meantime Ryan and Nicky are battling back and forth at the store over whos supposed to do the crappy jobs. Since Ryan has a whole "3 days senority" over Nicky he thinks hes entitled to boss Nicky around and make him do the crap work like cleaning toilets and stocking movies. It backfires for Ryan though as the boss sees how good Nickys been doing as far as stocking shelves, cleaning up, etc. that he promotes Nicky to assistant manager and demotes Ryan...LOL. Pure comedy moment as Ryan got played out nicely. Katie, still hurting for a job, applies for some sort of a computer job at Media Mania but lies on the application saying she has tons of experience when in reality she has almost none. Within hours of her first day at the job she f's up so bad that it crashes the entire stores system down and is fired immediately. Feeling as low as she could be, Katie runs into former olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller who offers some good advice to Katie after hearing about her situation. She takes Shannon's advice and tells the gym manager to give her a chance to prove that she can get customers to join. He obliges and she holds an on-stage promotion for the gym including calling audience members out and making them feel real relaxed and boosting their self-esteem. The segment ends with a bunch of the audience members agreeing to sign up to the gym and now Katie FINALLY gets a job...LOL.

Meanwhile Screech is the mall security guard (what idiotic company hired this doofus for security???) and it seems like his entire mission as guard is to watch over his beloved boy toy Belding. Everything from photos of Belding eating, to getting his car towed for parking crooked in a spot, to following him around makes me really think that the dude is a straight up nutjob and has a closet hard on for Belding. I mean seriously what else could it be. Im surprised they havent done an episode yet where Belding and Screech go at it fightstyle (although i know the show isnt about that). Honestly nothing would make me happier watching this show then to see Screech get knocked the f' out by anybody. Zack almost did it the original class episode "The Bayside Triangle" but thats as close as anyones come so far.

All in all i enjoyed this episode because it was a nice scenery change from the usual high school hallways and classrooms. Also some of these jobs the gang got will play integral parts in future episodes this season so i like the continuity (maybe for the first time in the SBTB franchise history...LOL.) that there will be some. Also i dont want to sound like Captain Obvious but man do Maria, Katie, and Liz look smoking hot throughout this episode and the entire season. Its a shame none of them really made it big as actresses in their post-SBTB: The New Class days.moreless
