The episode starts off with Eric ecstatic that he just met a new girl named Cheryl. He explains to the gang that hes into her so much that he talks to her until 3 in the morning which leaves him little time for sleep. The first complication with Erics lack of sleep comes into fruition with the upcoming Bayisde Homecoming Game. The coach put in new plays for that game so its on Eric to read and memorize the new plays so hes prepared for the game. The next day Tony asks if Eric has learned the new plays to which he answers no cause of his phone usage but "promises" that he will learn them tomorrow (IMO he just said that to get Tony off his back). The next complication comes when Eric is supposed to be singing at the Homecoming Dance. Maria asks him if hes picked out the song hes going to sing yet to which out course he answers no but once again "promises" that hes going to listen to his entire CD collection all night until he finds the perfect one for him claiming that hes just going to have to pull one his all-nighters. Band rehearsals begin and as usual insomniac Eric stayed up all night and must not have rehearsed the song because he ended up sounding like straight garbage with humming over the lyrics he didnt memorize. At the end of the scene Tony asks Eric if hes memorized the new play to which he responds yes but after Tony leaves you can opnely tell that he didnt. His storyline ends when he and Cheryl are on their way to the Homecoming Dance with Eric driving. He briefly nods off and almost gets into a car accident. A few minutes later the dance scene is being shown when everyone hears a loud bang outside. It turns out that Eric really passed out behind the wheel this time and crashes his car into a utility pole with luckily no one seriously injuted for his sake.

The second plot has to do with Beldings high school reunion. While in high school he was tormented by a bully that nicknamed Belding as "bucket head Belding" because of the bucket he used to put on top of Beldings head. At first Belding is shook to confront him and gets played out at the start of the dance with the bully giving him a wedgie (is there anything more homoesque then a grown man giving another grown man a wedgie???). At the end he finally stands up for himself and basically owns the trick ass bully. Predictable but still fun to watch. The third plot was the gang trying to hook Maria and Tony up on a blind date for The Homecoming Dance. At first they are appauled to see each other as the blind date but as the night goes on they get more comfortable with each other. Its obviously setting the stage for a possible Tony/Maria relationship brewing this season and like i said in another episode from this seasons review, only time will tell.

Overall the episode was your typical average New Class episode. It had its educational lesson (dont push yourself to the max, especially if youre not getting much sleep). The Belding plot was alright but like i said earlier it was somewhat predictable that Belding would own the dude at the end. Screech as usual was his annoying self but hey theres something about this show that has me reviewing a couple episodes per week so i guess its not all that bad...LOL.moreless
