Saved by the Bell

Season 4 Episode 27

Aired Saturday 11:00 AM May 22, 1993 on NBC

  • Trivia

    • Nitpick: There's no applause coming from the audience as Mr. Belding is calling off the names of the graduates.

    • We learn that Screech was the only one who actually intended to go to Cal/"California U" as per the College Years ("I'll be at Cal without a pal!"). Zack and Slater apparently change their minds, and Kelly transfers last minute.

  • Quotes

    • Zack: How about that? I actually graduated high school! (jumps off the stage) Right here guys! (graduation caps go flying into the air)

    • (After Lisa kisses Screech)
Screech: I'm so happy. I'm so sad. I don't know what I am.
Slater: That's too tough to figure out now.

    • Jessie: Lisa, I thought you didn't like him. Why did you kiss him?
Lisa: I'm gonna miss him, he's a decent guy.
Jessie: Lisa, he once got dressed, and THEN took a shower. He may be decent, but he's still a dorky guy.
Lisa: Well, if it wasn't for that "dorky guy," you wouldn't be valedictorian! Ohhhh......
Jessie: Valedictorian? What do you mean?
Lisa: Forget it. I promised not to tell.
Jessie: Lisa! I have to know! How did he make me valedictorian?
Lisa: Alright. Screech's average was higher than yours, but he told Mr. Belding to let you be valedictorian because it meant so much to you. This sure would be a much better world if there were more dorky guys, don't you think?

    • Slater: Okay, here's the letterman's jacket we promised you, and thanks again Pete for dropping out of the play.
Pete: No problem, I got extra credit from my Spanish cooking class.

  • Notes

    • Mark Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, and Dustin Diamond are the only three cast members to appear in all 87 episodes and TV specials throughout the series. This also marks the 100th regular episode in which Dustin and Mark-Paul appear as Zack and Screech. Both originally played the parts on Good Morning, Miss Bliss, which airs in sydication under the Saved by the Bell title.

    • Actually the original and first-run airdate of this episode was 12-05-92 on Saturday morning. Then instead of repeating on Saturday morning, it repeated on primetime prior to the series premiere of Saved by the Bell: The College Years where Zack, Slater, and Screech starred as college students.
