Everybody rushes to find Grace after she vanishes while pursuing a suspect.
  • A great show. I think it was one of their best ones.

This was an excellent episode, but the ending confused me. Earl is sitting with Grace in her room following her horrible abduction. We are shown Grace's bare back and, initially, I see a large black mess on it, like a really bad tattoo. Then Earl says that "He" did not put the angel wings on her back. We're shown Grace's back once again, and this time, there is no black blob, but rather, beautifully tattooed angel wings. During Grace's abduction, her kidnapper is shown carving her back, but we never see what he's carving. I guess that since he considered Grace his friend, as well as a person with whom he felt safe, he was attempting to carve angel wings on her back ... using, I think, a knife.

What actually happened in that end scene? Did God "fix" the messed up angel wings that Grace's kidnapper tried to put on her back, or was it Earl? And what did Earl mean then when he said, "...He did not put the angel wings on your back."

Obviously, I missed something and it's driving me crazy! So, please, if anyone can clarify this for me, I'd be greateful.moreless
